Winners of the APSCo Staffing Industry Awards 2011 Announced
The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (Apsco) is a professional body that represents recruitment organisations supplying professional workers and they have announced the winners of their staffing industry awards for the last year.
The 2011 APSCo Staffing Industry Awards include;
- The Recruitment Company of the Year on £100 million plus annual turnover was awarded to Fircroft.
- The Recruitment Company of the Year on £21-£100 million annual turnover was bestowed to Goodman Masson.
- The Recruitment Company of the Year under £20 million annual turnover was given to Aspire Global Network.
- And Brunton Consultancy was awarded the prestigious Recruitment Sector Service- Provider of the Year.
The AWR (Agency Workers Regulations) 2010 legislation is important to the professional body because it applies to individuals or companies involved in the supply of temporary agency workers, either directly or indirectly, to work temporarily for and under the direction and supervision of a hirer.
It came into force on 1st October 2011 giving agency workers in Great Britain after 12 weeks in a position the entitlement to the same basic employment and working conditions as if they had been recruited directly. The regulation aims to improve the pay and working conditions of temporary workers.
The Agency Worker Regulations continue to create concern across the recruitment industry in all sectors why is why it is imperative that expert AWR guidance remains a priority to all businesses involved in the contracting sector.
Contractors and agencies looking for assistance with both the impact of the AWR and their finances should contact Pulse Umbrella for more information.
